Too Many Shoes

No exotic items from dead relatives for me this week. It's all about practicality. A series of unfortunate events led me to empty the contents of my closet floor not once but twice in the past month. The first time was a novelty where you think "oh gosh, look at all those dust bunnies on the floor of my closet." Once clean, you feel great about the accomplishment.

The second time in so many weeks that you clean out the closet floor, all novelty is worn off. I came to a quick realization that 6 pairs of black shoes is way too many, that Doc Martens weigh too much, and Eddie Baurer is not a good place to buy shoes. The letting go of these three pair brings my shoe total to about twelve. I'd like to get that to single digits this year...two sandals, two brown, two black, and a sneaker ought to be plenty.

As for the shoes, the reds and the Docs went to the Goodwill and the Birks went to Ebay where they fetched a decent price and will now be enjoyed by some lucky person in North Carolina.
