Youngest Un Goes First

As I mentioned yesterday, we've all picked out our first week items to send packing. The youngest and only un, gets to go first mostly because he thought this was a ridiculous idea for a blog and he had nothing to get rid of! He really had his heart set on a cooking blog (the un-collecting family loves to cook) but we thought that might be a bit over done these days.

So, when he announced a small stack of books that could go it was only fitting to heartily celebrate and allow him the honor of the first post. He has chosen to give these books to his Kindergarten teacher. She was the most amazing teacher. She has spent countless hours and countless amounts of her own money to collect books for a book-bag program. In short, she has amassed enough books for each student to take a different book home everyday for the entire school year. The goal is for parents to spend time each evening reading to their children. In a school district where the majority of kids live at or below poverty level, this program has made all the difference.

Way to go youngest Un for thinking of Mrs. D's Kindergarten.
