Old Cook Books To A Good Cause

My family loves to eat and to cook. It brings a tremendous amount of joy to my heart to hear our son say, "I want home food." This sort of thing doesn't happen over night but takes a bit of cultivation, perseverance, and life-long learning. Having parents and grandparents who loved to cook "home food" doesn't hurt either.

So, this week it is with some mixed feelings that I let go a few of the very old cookbooks and cooking advertisement books from my grandmother and mother's collections. I don't recall my mom cooking from any of these books so that is making it a bit easier to let them go. However, I did find a few of my grandmother's notes in them, but the notes were shopping lists and errands to run. Thus, I figured these books were more for scarp paper than actual use.

These cook books will go to the local library for the spring book sale. Our small town cherishes several community events each year, the library book sale ranks high on the list. I love combing through the donations and the purchases go to an excellent cause. I just hope I don't end up buying the cook books back out of mistake or nostalgia.
